The National Concertation Committee is an informal national structure made up of local actors who are working on a voluntary basis. The National Concertation Committee is brought to life by the national Focal Point. These National Concertation Committees bring together each country¿s actors to discuss specific concerns and exchange ideas. They develop action plans in collaboration with different partners to better synchronize the MHO in their countries.
The National Concertation Committee also assists in the beginning stages of a mutualist movement and reinforces the visibility of micro-insurance actions already in place. For those movements, the Concertation acts as an advisor or a liaison for the people involved in creating and designing MHO or micro-insurance organizations.
The overall objectives of the National Concertation Committees are :
- Facilitate the coordination of interventions of different actors involved in healthcare access
- Furnish and analyze information about requests for interventions in order to orient the national committee¿s partner support
- Advocate for more visibility and understanding of the MHO system
- Reflect on larger issues which concern the development of MHO systems (implementation costs, installation procedures etc.)
- Diffuse instructional and promotional materials on health mutual organizations
- Développer le partenariat avec les réseaux nationaux et internationaux
- Develop partnerships with national and international networks
- Make the regional Concertation more visible
- Encourage collaboration between support structures and the State and between MHOs and the State
- Encourage collaboration between the support structures themselves and between MHOs
