Print

The participation of MHO actors in the Concertation network helps disseminate knowledge and allows for advocacy for increased social protection. Partnership support demonstrates the interest in this platform targeting the development of similar organizations and structures already in existence.

A Concertation is a coalition between a plurality of regional and international actors: agencies and development programs, informal economic organizations, MHOs and/or cooperative organizations, civil society, and national public structures. The Concertation works at a regional level by organizing activities which assist in broadening social protection while at the same time sharing the same vision, values and common principles.

In order to develop advocacy and information sharing activities, the Concertation concentrates in three regional zones.

Africa: The Concertation concentrates on health mutual actors : www.concertation.org and the secretariat is based in Dakar.

Asia:The Asia Micro Insurance Network: AMIN www.amin-net.org and the secretariat is based in New Delhi.

Latin America: America Cooperativa y Mutual : ACYM www.acym.net and the secretariat will be based in Montevideo.

These regional offices work in collaboration with international organizations which are all regrouped in the International Alliance for the broadening of social protection: www.social-protection.org in which the secretariat is based in Geneva.

Regional Concertations and the International Alliance make up the worldwide network of the Concertation.
